Rebuilding the Core of Racing Dash 2D

Hello everyone,

Status Update:
Racing Dash 2D is currently not receiving any new content updates while I focus on strengthening the core gameplay experience. Even though feedback has been limited, what has come through has highlighted some key areas that need work — particularly in how the game feels to play.

After a deep dive, I’ve made the decision to overhaul several systems under the hood. These changes may not be immediately visible on the surface, but they’re essential to making the game more fun, responsive, and future-proof.

Movement System Overhaul:
One of the biggest concerns was the player movement. I’m happy to share that the entire movement system has been rebuilt from the ground up. The old legacy code that held the game back is now gone, which should make the driving feel much smoother. This change also opens the door for more vehicle-specific customization down the line.

Shop System UX Issues:
Another major issue is the shop interface. Currently, accidental purchases aren’t prevented as well as they should be — and I sincerely apologize for that oversight. Improving this will be one of my main focuses going forward to ensure a better, more intuitive experience.

Currency System Confusion:
Lastly, the in-game currency system has caused some confusion. That’s going to be streamlined to better reflect its purpose and value. I’m working on ensuring this update will be compatible with existing save data, so no progress will be lost.

These changes are not yet available in the live game, but they will be part of an upcoming update.
